CAN MIGOYA BE TRUSTED TO RUN JACKSON?

Banker to the Developers (and now former City Manager) Carlos Migoya has his eyes set on another public perch where he continue to exercise the leadership skills he so famously showed at the City of Miami.

Rumor has it that Migoya enjoyed the public sector so much that he is now spreading his name around to be considered as the next head of Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Anyone who reads this blog, along with our friends over at the Crespo Gram and Investigation Miami, know full well that under the leadership of Mr. Migoya, the City of Miami has been an unmitigated disaster.

Not only did Mr. Migoya NOT fix the fiscal mess that is the City, but he bent over and took it when Mayor Regalado replaced him with the incompetent Tony Crapp.

Anyone with a modicum of shame, an MBA, and over three decades of experience in finance and banking would have at least questioned being replaced by someone with the thinnest resume of any city manager in past memory.

Yet, Migoya praised Regalado's selection, agreeing that the job he undertook for nearly a year, could also be done well by an incompetent lackey.

Mr. Migoya lost whatever reputation he had as a serious businessman the minute he became a shill to Mayor Regalado's incompetent circus, and especially when he allowed himself to be replaced by someone who is woefully unqualified for the position.

Mr. Migoya should salvage what little reputation he has left, and go on a bike ride in the French countryside with our pal Jorge Perez.

If Migoya could be replaced at the City by an incompetent idiot, what makes him so qualified to run one of the top public hospitals in the country?

So true. Entirely accurate.
Migoya used some smoke and mirrors and some sleight of hand to mask the City's financial problems. 2011 will be another terrible year with the City again flirting with bankruptcy. Further, Migoya is leaving the City facing the bailout of two broke museums. Migoya never required an audit of the collection deprived Miami Art Museum and the broke Miami Science Museum.

Migoya left many problems for the novice new manager.

The budget was "balanced" by using fake projections. This is like if you run a business and go off to spend money because you are planning on winning the lotto.

Same type of accounting at the city where they were counting on both the parking authority takeover and the ludicrous $8 million from red light cameras.

Migoya fixed nothing, he can use all the fake projections of revenue he wants, however the bottom line is the City will not be able to pays it bills. The City will collect less revenue than it spends, I call that bankruptcy!!!!

Nothing was "fixed". Short term tricks were used to survive. The unions are still chomping at the bit to get more pay and more benefits. 90% of union members are NOT City residents so they don't care if the weak commissioners raise taxes. In fact, they demand higher taxes. Taxes went up last year.

Migoya left problems.

I'm not a city resident but live in the county. My taxes went up, my homeowners insurance went up, my flood insurance went up, gas prices went up, car insurance went up, food prices go up. You know what, I may not live in the city but I pay my taxes like everyone else.

If you want to know just what kind of guy Carlos Migoya is, then go to my website and read: Carlos Migoya's Parting Gift To The City."

I hear some folks got enough booze in them yesterday at the Mayor's Christmas party to actually tell him just what a dick he's been.

Al, it just goes to show how fucked up this County is that a guy like Migoya seriously thinks he can go fix Jackson.

City of Miami residents and business owners are being forced to pay higher taxes, higher fees and larger fines to cover the losses made by stupid decisions by elected officials. For example; overly generous union contracts, $3.5 Bil to the Marlins. $60 Mil to deadbeat Jungle Island, $60 mil for tunnel to nowhere, $12 Mil for Fire Department overtime, $1 bil for two broke museums on Bicentennial Park, $100 mil for employee pensions...

Migoya didn't know the extent of the corruption.

Merry Christmas to Take Back Miami, hope you have a great holiday.

Sarnoff, hope you don't (not really) choke on your holiday meal. Dunn, as you feast and pray on your holiday meal, remember and pray for the improvement of your constituent's living situation And also pray for forgiveness for negleting them this year as a commissioner. Regalado, you're an idiot.

The last shoe to drop will be the Mayor asking for state oversight in April when the CFO tells him that the city is going to be bankrupt by the end of fiscal '11.

Are you kidding?

Fraternity brothers Tony "Don't Know" Crapp and Larry "Trust Me" Spring will lie through their teeth and tell Retardado everything is fine!

Retardado will then go to the media and blame Manny Diaz.

Thanks for your comments at anon 10:18 Grace and Harry.

You used to have balls and publish your names, now you hide behind Regalado.

I hope you can excuse away the 5 shooting deaths from the "hand picked" and now "under the bus" Police chief.

None of your lies can cover the fact that Regalado is the worst mayor in this City's history.

Manny Diaz started the City on the path to financial disaster but Tomas Regalado is making decisions to hasten the demise. Regalado allows and encourages corruption. Regalado refused to fire Manny Diaz's CFO. Regalado named a novice as City Manager. Regalado raises taxes instead of cutting pay and benefits.

Yes yes, keep blaming Manny.

Oh, and Marlins Marlins Marlins.

Excume me but Regalado did cut pay and benefits. Where have you been?? My pay and benefits have been cut twice already and next year they plan on cutting some more. I don't like regalado so I'm not defending him. But why are you saying that he didn't cut pay and benefits??

Let me get this straight, Mr. Migoya is being looked at to be the next boss at Jackson Hosiptal. I was sure that the board at Jackson was going to seek out the best qualified individual for the job at Jackson. I guess Mr. Migoya has such great skills like being a Cuban-American that no one is as qualified as Mr. Migoya. He we go again, same shit as usual....

Regalado agreed to postpone pay increases or reduce pay and benefits to some employees. The City of Miami needs massive pay and benefit reductions to survive. Regalado is too scared to make the drastic expense cuts the City requires.

Regalado did vote to raise taxes, fees and fines. Taxpayers are getting crushed.

Experts doubt the new neophyte City Manager and the CFO who is currently under investigation know how to fix the problems.

Carlos Migoya is a liar, exagerator, and a conspirator. In his last Commission meeting he stated that he has no conflict because his shares with Wachovia now owned by Wells Fargo is demiscus and that the take over by Wells Fago of Wachovia caused him to possibly lose 8 figure shares, which in turn would be no less than 10 million dollars. If this is the case, Migoya, then your shares could not be minimal. You would have to earn a good portion of shares with Wachovia that would have caused you to claim that the take over by Wells Fago caused you to lose millions in the double digit.

Again, you are no more than a FUCKING LIAR AND EXAGERATOR!

Migoya go to your lover boy Jorge Perez and come up with another kickback scheme. Bottom line your ass got kicked to curb from the City of Miami! Mayor Regalado won't publicly admit it, but he didn't trust your ass. He will soon undo some of your personnel decision and will bring back someone we all know soon!

And thanks for taking the Mango Strut away from the original strutters and giving it to BID and the Grove Chamber of Commerce. Politics as usual.

Migoya left the criminal element of the City in place. In fact, he gave several of the chumps promotions.
