Miami Police Chief Under Investigation
Compare this to the recent investigation completed by the U.S. Department of Justice in New Orleans and you'll see how the complete ineptitude of Regalado and Crapp managed to turn this into a giant mess.
NEW ORLEANS — Justice Department officials on Thursday released the findings of a 10-month investigation into this city’s Police Department, revealing a force that is profoundly and alarmingly troubled and setting in motion a process for its wholesale reform.
The report describes in chilling detail a department that is severely dysfunctional on every level: one that regularly uses excessive force on civilians, frequently fails to investigate serious crimes and has a deeply inadequate, in many cases nonexistent, system of accountability.
Using the report as a guideline, federal and local officials will now enter into negotiations leading to a consent decree, a blueprint for systemic reform that will be enforced by a federal judge.
Why did the Mayor not call for the sort of review of the City of Miami Police Department?
Instead, they went of and hired a $70,000 consultant that agrees with the police chief!
Mayor Regalado continues on a daily basis to show that he and Manager Crapp are unfit to serve and unfit to lead.

Tony "from the closet" Crapp is not qualified to be the City Manager. Regalado appointed Crapp out of insecurity.

There is a rumor that Chief Miguel Exposito will become a spokesman for Dunken Donuts. There is already a commercial with Chief Exposito in it saying, "The men and women of the Miami Police Department follows my examples. Anytime they see a Dunken Donut they go after it like predators".
During this morning Commission Meeting I quietly sat down to hear an item regarding the Olympia Gusman Theater. A private-public venture has been undertaken to have the Theater be transferred from the management of the Miami Parking Authority to a non-profit organization to manage the theater. However, when Maurice Gusman donated the theater to the City of Miami in 1975 he made one important stipulation: that it be managed by the Department of Off-Street Parking, also known as the Miami Parking Authority.
So, is this transfer legal?
I also heard during the discussion about a trolly system being connected to the theater. I conducted research and found that an RFP was issued and completed almost 2 years ago, but never awarded, for trolley services. Today, there is another RFP issued for trolley services with a strong component involving advertising. Knowing that Herman Echevarria and Armando Gutierrez have been business partners in the past, both of them are headed into another business venture with the assistance of the Mayor, City Commission, City Attorney, and Art Noriega.
After leaving City Hall this morning, I went into the City of Miami's Administration Building. I found out that Mayor Regalado, Commissioner Sarnoff, Tony Crapp, Jr., Johnny Martinez, Alice Bravo, Larry Spring, and Kenneth Robertson at one time or another discussed the disruption caused by hiring Meredith Nation in the Purchasing Department.
There main concern. Having the Purchasing Department under the public and bloggers microscope will make it difficult to steer city contracts. Therefore, they eliminated the problem. Maredith Nation has been fired.

While the discussions might have taken place, Merridth North was fired only as a way to rehire her in her current position.
I got the news last night of her firing, and this morning I checked, and she is still supposedly on the job.
The firing was a paperwork issue.
New Orleans had officers convicted of murder! how can you compare MIami PD to them??? Yes 7 drug dealers or career criminals were killed and all within state law use of force. Do you think FBI director would be defending the chief if this were not the case??? This is not the eighties river cops, you have dedicated police officers putting themselves between you and the animals on the street. News Flash you live in a violent city!! the media can sugar coat it but it is what it is. Fix the corrupt politicians and you wont have this banana republic of a city.

Not true! I went to the Purchasing Department and Meredith Nation's workstation is empty. She collected her personal belongings.
I stand corrected. My fault. She was fired.
No go back above to my 10:03 posting as to why. I have also recieved word that there is another potential dismissal that will be occurring in this Department. As soon as I receive confirmation I will report it.
Is it true Meredith Nation was collecting $110,000 per year for a no-show job? It appeared she got fired from the useless DDA and then she sat home in Broward County collecting the taxpayers money for a no-show job. True?
One of the shooting "victims" had been arrested over 38 times.
