DAY 305 - WE'RE BACK!

After some "technical difficulties" and our blog legal team working extra hours...

We're back.

New name.

New URL.

Same pissed off attitude.

Tomasito and Marc, you can't silence the voice of the people!

And now we are prepared to spill the beans:

The Herald REALLY didn't know that Reverend Dunn was too busy at a fundraiser during the City of Miami budget hearing?

Why is Tomasito REALLY supporting Alex Sink?

(HINT: it has to do with a very large red light scamera lobbyist)

And...

Did Marc violate yet ANOTHER Florida statute when he sought elected office?

Stay tuned...

This is incredible. Where are the feds? This is America where "freedom of speech" is supposed to be encouraged!

Was there a threat of legal action? Is that why you have added a "word verification" to the comment form. Is anonymity preserved?

This is the big thank you that the elected officials in the City of Miami are giving the citizens of Miami and its employees. Read this and see the balls that these people have.

City planning (and spending $$ for) big bash downtown for Miami Heat opener

http://www.nbcmiami.com/around-town/events/Heat-and-City-plan-big-opening-night-102893949.html

Miami's downtown will shut down for the Heat opener. It will be one of the biggest parties in Miami's history and that's not a euphemism.

The city is planning to turn all of downtown into a massive block party for the Miami Heat on opening night, creating a hype to match the hype of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh on the basketball court.

THE CITY IS PUMPING MAD MONEY INTO THE EFFORT, which involves cleaning up the streets to have an NBA shine by the time the first home game rolls around Oct. 29.

"We are so excited about the heat season starting we are going to throw a big tailgate party on Biscayne Boulevard," said Alyce Robertson, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority. "We are working with the Heat organization to be able to project the whole game outside and get the dancers outside as well as the entertainment that's going on inside come outside to the street party."

That's right. The plan is to turn downtown Miami into a massive party.

Restaurants are being courted to line Biscayne Blvd. Big screens set outside so that everyone, not just the lucky ticket holders inside, can see the first home match up against in-state rival, the Orlando Magic.

But it's never too early to plan for a designated driver or a massive traffic nightmare.

Biscayne will be closed in front of the American Airlines Arena from N.E. 6th Street to N.E. 8th. It's estimated 11,000 people can stand in front of the arena, so they need room for more.

Organizers will likely use the amphitheater at Bayfront Park or Bicentennial Park to handle the overflow crowd.

There is a significant effort to fix up downtown for all the international visitors and locals.

"We are cleaning up and trying to fix the parking lots and to trying to get it all ready for the block party for the first game here in Miami," Mayor Tomas Regalado said.

This is just outright disgusting. This is a middle finger from Tomass and the rest of the commission to the citizens of Miami. You know the little peoples that they are looking out for. How much is this going to cost the taxpayers by having police, Fire rescue, and solid waste to clean up after the event. And lets not even get into the Big screens, lane shutdowns, and personnel to assist the citizens. These people are just outright criminals.

Commissioners raised taxes.

The Miami Heat has never paid a cent in rent.

Welcome back!! We did really miss you and glad you are back. One thing...since we are starting new, perhaps we can refrain from personal attacks on sexuality preference, type, size, etc. Let's stick to the issues at hand and figure out what can be done about it. Let's not use this wonderful tool we have as a bashing mechanism, but one where we can really CHANGE how the city is run and TAKE BACK Miami!
Thank you!

I would like to point out that the American Airlines Arenea site was owned by the City of Miami who sold it to Miami-Dade County for a nominal sum. The taxpayers still own the land. The Miami Heat can pay $100+ mil per year in salaries but the Miami Heat has never paid Miami-Dade County a penny in rent.
Recently the Miami Heat installed an illegal LED billboard.

In promotional material prior to a voter referundum the Heat promised to build a public soccer field on the land east of the arena. Instead the Heat prevent the public from using that land. Where is the promised soccer field?

Why doesn't the Heat pay rent?

Welcome back. When you disappeared it was like Starbucks shutting down. I needed my fix of information.

I'm truly happy someone is taking on the Mayor and Commissioners.
