A WORTHY CHALLENGER

Our inbox this morning was abuzz with comments from our Spanish language friends about an appearance last night on the highly rated "Oscar Haza" show on Channel 41 of one Dr. Emilio Gonzalez.

The interview with the former immigration service director, member of the Bush national security team, and Army veteran started off with a general overview of national politics and the midterm elections but quickly turned to local politics.

When asked, Dr. Gonzalez opined on the defeat of the Miami Parking Authority takeover, pointing out how a City that is on the verge of bankruptcy due to poor fiscal management made a desperate attempt to increase revenues by acquiring control of the parking authority, and yet voters failed to go along with the Mayor's proposal, indicating a deep lack of confidence in the Mayor's ability to manage the City's finances.

Asked point blank whether he would run for the Mayoral seat in 2013, Dr. Gonzalez coyly did not deny that he would not be seeking the Mayor's office.

Meanwhile, facing a drubbing at the polls, losing the MPA takeover, backing a loser in the Gubernatorial race, and continued record high unemployment in the City of Miami, Mayor Tomasito went on a Spanish language radio offensive of his own, bringing out his favorite topic once again, the Florida Marlins.

While people are suffering from an economic downturn and the City is teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, is this really the best Tomas can do?  How many times can he beat the Marlins' dead horse?

You better come up with some real solid plans soon Tomas.

You're politically weak, the knives are out, and they are aiming for your back!

We hope that a worthy challenger does step up against you, and give Miami the leadership we all deserve.

A very well placed source is telling me Sarny is going to be running for mayor.

Magic = Dirty Tricks! said...

Sarny will not be able to keep his commission seat much less become Mayor. Even with his 'Best Friend' Wilbur Jackson doing his 'magic'!

With Sarnoff we get more of the same, we need new blood!

Commissioner Sarnoff was laughing with Wilbur Jackson saying "I'm fucking god". With having "Dumbity Dumbity Dumb" Dunn elected, and my boy toy Suarez I have a very powerful bloc. The Mayor needs me and I don't need anybody.

Regalado and Sarnoff teamed up to bypass City rules to get the 50 story LED billboards passed. Billboard money much?

LED beer ads coming to a 50 story billboard near you!

Tomas and Sarnoff and both failures, they have never run anything in their lives and the City's financial situation reflects that. Carollo and Suarez are both crazy and will also drive the City further into the ground. Anon 8:31 is right, it will be just more of the same. The City needs someone with experience and a fresh new approach whether it's Gonzalez or anyone else, I for one am tired of the usual dirty politicians and their lobbyist fat cats while the City continues to go down the drain. Three years is a long time to wait though.

Does Dr. Gonzalez even know where City Hall is?

Anonymous said...

Miami still has the highest paid fire union members in the world. Taxpayers getting hosed.

Anonymous said...

Baby, Gonzalez lives in Miami, he knows very well where City Hall is, it's where all the shit stink if coming from!

Hey Ada/Pepe/Marrero/Wilbur/Elvis et. al., get back to "work" and enjoy it while you can, someone is coming to sweep you all out and your days are numbered.

Please, not another Cuban...

Carlos Alvarez, Manny Diaz, Tomas Regaldo, Angel Gonzalez, Joe Sanchez...Armando Gutriguez, Wilbur Jackson (yes, he's Cuban)...

Anonymous said...

I agree, no more Cubans. Let's bring in Sarnoff, Dunn, Spence-Jones, Teele, Dawkins, Ma Range, Winton, Warshaw, Plummer, Clark...

Instead of being a racist, what about, please no more crooks.

Miami needs new leadership, and fast!

What's with Sarnoff and billboards? He hated billboards in 2006 and early 2007 and then when the outdoor advertising industry started pouring money into his campaign coffers NOW he is their biggest advocate?

He certainly is an ASSHOLE

Well lets see, the Mayor of the City of Miami and the Mayor of Dade County has something in common. Both Cuban-Americans lack the ability to tell the truth and its back door type of business as usual in our local governments, and that my friends is spending our tax dollars on their pet projects even when the public does not support their pet projects. One has sold his soul to the Marlins on our dime. The other is trying to find a revenue stream to keep the city from going broke since the City is hooked on the tax dollar like a dope head is to drugs. Its very clear that the past Cuban-American political leaders in both the City and County did not do their jobs that they were elected to uphold. Rather than run to Latin radio and TV stations that only appeal to Latins, why dont they try to at least include anybody besides Latins. Last time I checked there still are a few non Latin voters in the City and County. If any local government needs a breath of fresh air its its our City and County governments. Lets see what happens this comming budget year. Will the City and County try to raise our taxes again to cover the short fall like they did this year. Its clear that the past Cuban-American political leaders spent our tax dollars like a drunken sailor and continue to conduct business behind closed doors as usual, You help me remain in office and I will help you get those big governement contracts the good old Latin way. We all know that both Mayors are way over their heads in their ability to run a major American City. Maybe its something they were taught growing up where ever they came from but its that same old story, talk about Castro and Cuba and you get elected even if they are not qualified. To many non-latins its clear why you lost your country and until the Cuban-Americans wake up and realize that the reason you all fled Cuba was to find a place where they could live and raise their families in peace. The problems we face together must be to get our governments to respect the wishes of the voteing public which has to include Latin and non-Latin voters and not spend tax dollars we dont have. I refuse to beleive that there is not one Cuban-American citizen who would or could be elected and condut business in accordance with all Federal,State and Local laws. Its not that hard to do unless you happen to live in Dade County. What this community needs is a Tea Party type of political leader who will adhear to all laws and regulations and do the job that they were elected to do. Until that day comes, its higher and higher tax increases because they cant stop from spending every penny they collect. My Cuban-American friends always tell me how the Cubans made Miami. Well if thats true and we know it is what happened along the way that we now have to suffer from former elected officals lack of ability to run a government that spends only what it collects in taxes. Is the Marlin's baseball field a project that we needed to build without finding out first about their ability to pay for the project with their funds and not ours. Something so simple as looking at the Marlins's books before spending out tax dollars was not done, and the County Mayor still supports his decision when a majority of voters dont. These Cuban_American elected officals view the voteing public as stupid people that need to be told what is best for us by them. Our local leaders should copy what our new Cuban-American Senator Rubio stands for and we all would be better off. Our local elected officals need to be held to a higher standard and if they dont measure up lets vote them out of office even if they are Cuban-Americans.

Maybe next time people will care about voting in the next mayoral election and not leave the future of our city in the hands of 20,000 old Cubans who vote absentee after being told what to do by friendly firefighters

Jackson to support Sarnoff said...

What are the firefighters saying about the realationship between Sarnoff and Wilbur Jackson. They have buried the 'hatchet'. Or was this their plan all along. A mole and an asshole. So sad.

What a bunch of crooks and criminals are in those images.
Wow.

Anonymous said...

Commissioner scumbag is the most hated man in Miami right now and there's no way in hell that he will win the support of the fire department no matter what Jackson says or does.

Anonymous said...

Jackson doesn't care as long as he is paid his 'blood' money!

Anonymous said...

No candidate wants the support of the Fire Union. Why? Almost none of the firefighters live in Miami. They don't vote. They don't pay taxes. Their fat pay and benefits makes them the highest paid firemen in the world.

Voters are hopefully smart enough to vote for the candidate who promises to reduce pay and benefits and who swears he/she is not beholden to a union. Any union.

Teresa, thank you for giving yourself to me.

Union members don't elect officials. They work very hard for a candidate and get the vote out for the candidate, i.e. absentee ballots, driving, campaigning. One non resident fireman/policeman = 15 votes..It adds up!

Anonymous said...

To 05:50,
Excellent point.
At this point, when I see fire union members trying to get a politician elected I assume that politician is corrupt and has committed to maximizing the pay and benefits for the overpaid firemen. You are correct, not everyone thinks that way.

Sarnoff's under survellance said...

Well get ready....the fire union along with Wilbur Jackson are once again, $$$$$, supporting Sarnoff for either relection to D2 or the Mayor of the City. Follow the money! The Sarnoff's are being followed!

Anonymous said...

In 2008 Fire Rescue Lt William Savoy made $200,000. That made him the 90th best paid fireman in Miami. But it is the pensions here fire really rakes it in. 102% pensions?

You are as gay as a $3 Dollar Bill.
You are not man enough for her.

Anonymous @ 5:43. No, it appears Sarnoff is not man enough for her. She is looking for men who are into women, not men.

City still facing financial ruin. City Manager still overpays employees. Sarnoff continues to put his personal publicists on the City payroll. Dunn's office is overstaffed. Many employees abuse the taxpayers. Larry Spring still playing games.

Real estate prices continue to decline.

Taxpayers suffer.

Fire union members make 250% to 400% more than private sector said...

Fire union members still best paid in the world yet they refuse to live and vote in Miami.

Why not make it a rule that all firemen and policemen going forward must live, in not the City of Miami, at least Miami-Dade County.

This Mole want to know said...

Does anyone know if the Broward County resident, Wilbur Jackson is in fact 'The Mole'?

Anonymous said...

Yes he is the Mole...in fact he as indicated as much. Do not and we must repeat DO NOT TRUST WILBUR JACKSON. He is working for the Lady Sarnoff and her man Marc.

Jackson's the Mole said...

...again people do not, I repeat, do not trust Wilbur Jackson. He is with Liaroff!

There are no fires in the City of Miami. Only Jewish Lightning.

What are the names of the couple that live in the building that is next to the clubs. They show up everywhere to complain about the clubs. Yet, they are friends in facebook with club owners from the beach that compete with the ParkWest clubs. Its an ugly short guy and a tall girlfriend that looks like Olive Oil from Popeye.

Sell your overpriced condo and move to the beach. Oh no, didnt you fuckheads give money to Stagnetta?

Typical tactic of the guilty, attempt to deflect attention from the facts. Too bad all the facts are against you.

Anonymous said...

15:16 above shows terror tactics used by the 24 hour clubs located in District 2 to attack and harass anyone who publicizes their illegal actions. Who would want to complain if it risks some sleazy Club Space bouncer knocking on their door at 6:00 am?

Anonymous said...

How could a club bouncer get in your "secured" condo at 6am. Thats fucked up!

Read the latest on Al Crespo's Webzine and also the I.M. blog. Now we know why Sarnoff is called 'Nickle-Nose' behind his back. He's f...ing CHEAP!

Bouncers (drug dealers) and lowlife club owners have gotten access to nice buildings. One of the problems caused by the recession.

Go ahead blame the clubs on Bush if you want to

Greed and avarice are the reason the lowlife drug clubs survive.

Attempting to terrorize any opponents helps too.

All in Sarnoff's district.

Watch Mayor Tomas Regaldo, Commissioner Sarnoff and Commissioner Richard Dunn act to help their campaign contributors from the outdoor advertising industry. Nobody has explained to Dunn that billboard companies like putting billboards in slums (Overtown, Liberty City, I-95 corridor) because slum dwellers don't complain. In fact, note to Dunn, billboards perpetuate slum and blight.
