ETHICS COMMISSION DIRECTOR UNETHICAL???

Take Back Miami has obtained a memo from Mayor Carlos Alvarez to the Chair of the Miami Dade County Ethics Commission alleging "inappropriate conduct" on the part of Commission Executive Director Robert Meyers.

Mr. Meyers, who according to documents obtained by Random Pixels, makes $230,747 of our hard earned tax money to chase crooked politicians is instead accused of chasing his secretary.

According to the note:

Mr. Meyers and his secretary "take extended lunch hours to enjoy food, drinks, and 'conversation' at the County's expense."

1345_001[1]

So when you wonder why Chairman of Everything Marc David Sarnoff, Mayor Tomasito Regalado, his daughter Raquelita Regalado, and all the other crooked politicians get away with all they do while the so called "Ethics Commission" looks the other way, now you know.

And Bob, what is it with all the "Miami Spice" coupons anyhow?

You make over $230K!

Crooked and cheap.

Wow.
$230,000? For $230,000 Robert Meyers and all his employees sure miss a lot.

One blogger working part-time could find more crime in a month then these nit-wits find in a year.

Just sour grapes by someone that lost an Ethics Complaint. Nothing more.

Wonder who Robert will get to defend him. Marc Sarnoff or John Dellagloria?

Corrupt politicians doing as they please with a supposed watchdog ethics commission doing nothing as the executive director is paid 230,000 with higher taxes during a recession, yes it's sour grapes you moron!

I'm not sure that Meyers is corrupt - but I think we can be sure he is horny.
Having an affair at work is so common in the city (and the county) that I would not use that as a qualifier for corruption.

Hey Have Dick, at $230,747 a year of my tax money, I expect a little more from my "ethicist" bureaucrat than perhaps you do. This guy needs to stop chasing tail and instead chase crooked politicians, of which there are many many in this town, starting with the Honorables Regalado and Sarnoff.

I think the real issue here is how cheap this man is. Rod has to pay her way after Bob kicks in a $20.00coupon. We all thought Liaroff was cheap; probably a role model for Mr. Meyers.

Miami-Dade Ethics Commission

Dear Commissioners:

On your web-site the Executive Director, Mr. Robert Meyers is asked the following question with his answer enclosed:

Are any gifts absolutely not allowed?

Yes, gifts from County vendors related to travel may not be accepted. This means that a County vendor may not pay for your transportation, lodging, meals, registration fees, or incidental expenses associated with travel. The prohibition does not apply to travel expenses paid by other governmental entities or by organizations that the County has joined, if the travel is related to the County’s membership in the organization.

However that same Executive Director has accepted a gift of two free lunches or dinner at Seasons 52 in Coral Gable. At www.takebackmiami.blogspot.com there is a copy of a hand written note from Executive Director, Robert Meyers to one of his employees, Rodzandra Sanchez, advising her that he has made reservations for the both of them for today at lunch time since, "this is just too good of a deal to pass up". (FREE)!

Is not American Express, who is providing this gift, not a county vendor related to travel? Is your Executive Director, Mr. Robert Meyers not breaking the 'rules'?

Anxiously awaiting your response.

Respectfully,

Brent Cutler

Let me give it to you in terms you can understand Mr. Meyers... to find corruption at Pan American Dr would be easier than you going to an all woman's prison with a fist full of pardons trying to get laid.

Mr. Meyers hand writing has an uphill slant, therefore;

QUESTION: can a person who wants to become more sociable adopt a right slant even though she usually wants solitude? i know that some people who writes with an exaggerated uphill baseline is more likely to be made by someone fighting depression rather than an optimist. in this case, it seems like the handwriting tells what the person wants to have, which is keeping a positive mental outlook. if that's the case, can the right slant indicate that the girl secretly wishes to interact better with society?
could it be that she learned to write while bending her wrist cos she learned it from her friend who is a 'hook writer', so it naturally creates a right slant? she can still write the way she was taught to, which is holding the pen like right-hander do.her handwriting is in mixed slant(last year it was mostly in left slant), thought it's not that messy and it is not really obvious.

Scott Petullo said...

To some degree, yes, a person can utilize graphotherapy to modify personality. But I've often seen the subject suddenly adopt new graphology considerations that symbolize the personality trait they are trying to avoid. For example, someone attempts to make right slant an unconscious part of their writing (i.e., create a more outgoing inner reaction, thus outer), but then they suddenly start writing with all circle letters closed tightly (keeping their mouth shut), or perhaps with a smaller size (not a social animal), or maybe with a tighter left margin (fear of moving out into the world), etc. The subconscious mind is a potent force, not easily controlled by the subject.

Yes, an exaggerated uphill baseline is more likely to be made by someone fighting depression.

Forced right slant might indicate that she wants to have a more expressive inner reaction, thus a more outgoing personality, yes.

If it's a right slant, then consider the personality traits associated with it, no matter how they write. If left, then consider that. But do somewhat consider if they write with their left hand or not. Also, It's possible for someone to have variable slant.

Sincerely,
Scott Petullo

All of these accusations are false.

Robert Meyers is a dedicated and ethical public servant who is worth every single cent of his $230,000 a year salary. The taxpayers of this community should feel grateful to have such a man on the job and instead of whining should be asking for him to get a raise.

Chairman Marc David Sarnoff, Esquire, furthermore will not stand for anyone to besmirch the reputation of Mr. Meyers or the Miami-Dade County Ethics Commission who are known for their aggressive pursuit of truth and honesty in politics, and have a long history of fighting corruption in Miami-Dade government.

Let me conclude by saying that although Chairman Marc David Sarnoff, Esquire, is of the Hebrew faith, let us quote another famous Jew, Jesus Christ, when he said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

When has ethics become an issue. Lets be 100% honest and realize that most elected officals here in the City of Miami and the County have no ethics at all. Does the Mayor of the County have ethics?, or was that $50,000.00 a payoff for being a slut for the Marlins with our tax payers money. What else did our elected officals get from the Marlins that we don't know of yet??. Thats what happens when the vast majority of the voters still think there in Cuba for the past fifty years and keep electing the same type of people everytime they wake up to vote. Let's hope they wake up and realize that there here in Miami, a American City before the next election.

"The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust today dismissed a complaint (C 10-34) filed against Miami City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff that accused him of using his position to thwart the enforcement of a possible land use violation, finding no probable cause to the charge. The accusations were filed in August by three citizens who claimed the commissioner violated a permit allowing him to operate his law practice out of a residential property, and then alleged city officials gave Sarnoff special treatment while investigating the charge. Ethics Commission investigators determined that Sarnoff was cited with a notice of violation and corrected it within the allotted time. A charge against City Code Enforcement Director Sergio Guadix was found “not legally sufficient” and was also dismissed."

Okay Rodzandra, now that we've taken care of that pesky complaint against that nice commissioner, let's take go to lunch. Sorry Rod, you turn to buy, but I can help out with some coupons.

A complaint (C 10-12) filed against Miami City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff was dismissed as not legally sufficient. A citizen accused Sarnoff of violating state law by meeting with former City Manager Joe Arriola and Jorge Perez, president of the Related Group, between November of 2006 and January of 2007, prior to the commission’s January 25th vote on a building project proposed by the Related Group next to Mercy Hospital. The Ethics Commissioners ruled they did not have jurisdiction because the alleged event took place more than three years ago and they have no power to enforce the state rule. Additionally, there is no evidence that the meetings influenced Commissioner Sarnoff since he consistently voted against the proposed project.

The Man, Robert Meyers said...

Citizens can file a complaint by submitting a written notarized complaint executed on a form prescribed by the Ethics Commission. The complaint must allege a violation within the jurisdiction of the Ethics Commission, be based on substantial personal knowledge of the complainant, and include as much evidence as possible. People....word up! Sources tell us that the 11/22 Ethics Commission meeting was 'must see' TV! Seems like Bobby and Kerry Rosenberg (Ethics Chairman) were trying to cover up for Bobby and the secretary's "lunches"! The Ethics Board was in an uproar when they heard about this for the 1st time at the board meeting on 11/22 & Commissioner Judge Gelber and the rest of the bunch ordered an investigation to be conducted by the ethics board into the relationship of Bobby and Rodzandra Sanchez. I think the state ethics commission should be handling this one - official misuse of office for personal gain & then some!
