EXPO HAS IT ALL UNDER CONTROL - WHY WON'T MAYOR REGALADO FIRE THE CHIEF?

Downtown Miami this weekend was turned in to a zoo by rowdy so called "music" fans and the City of Miami police where nowhere to be found.

This happens after the much publicized and viewed beating incident during Halloween captured on video of two City of Miami police officers beating up unarmed citizens during an arrest.

Fearing another "public relations nightmare," Mayor Regalado quipped: "They should have informed us, the political leader, of the consequences that this video would have."

Expo counters: "We normally do not discuss internal investigations with the mayor, but as I mentioned, he knew about it before we did."

Between the secret police to unearth corruption, the false arrests of city employees, and the FOUR shootings this Summer, Expo is having himself quite a year as police chief.

Speaking of shootings, do we have the results of the investigations yet?

Of course not!

Chief Exposito continues to be an UNMITIGATED DISASTER!

And Regalado does nothing.

The citizens of Miami deserve and expect a professionally led police force, which we are not getting.

Crime and mayhem, ALL continue to be Mayor Regalado's fault.

Hell will freeze over before a Cuban_American Police Chief is fired. Did you forget that Cuban-Americans are perfect and will never do anything that is not good for all of us. I forgot, that what is preached on crazy Cuban radio 24hours a day and 365 days a year. God help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corruption can manifest itself in any ethnicity. Look no further than Commissioner of "ethics" Sarnoff, he's Jewish.

Wow what a bunch of idiots jumping on that poor taxi driver's car. Would have been great to see him pepper spray them, starting with that stupid bitch with the big boots. It's a shame that these crowds always attack the innocent bystarders. Where were the cops at????????

The cops were too busy protesting for more $$$.

Exposito should have never become police chief, he is a disgrace to this community, but then again so is Regalado.

unfortunaly, should Expo be fired the Mayor would immediately replace him with the deputy police chief who would be no better. We need to have a national seach for the next City of Miami Police Chief.

to anon 11:27 Sarnoff is American, and I can tell your a little mixed up on what being jewish is all about, that pretty much tells me all I need to know about you.....

Dear Take Back...the way to shrink videos so that they fit is when you do the copy paste, look at the lines of code and look for the numbers 640 X 385. Change the 640 to 500, and the 385 to 325, and see how that fits on your page....you can tweak it until it fits right...I see we have similar tastes in videos, I selected the same 2 videos for my post - which now has to wait until tomorrow because of documents I obtained today about the CRA/Movie Studio deal. Good to see you getting good stories... al crespo

Ah, where to begin? First and foremost you're obviously not the brightest bulb on the menorah.
I think a 5th grader could have deduced that the point I was trying to make which clearly went over your yarmulke. I was referencing the earlier post (anon 10:27am) which made disparaging remarks toward Cuban-Americans.
I clearly stated that ANY ethnicity is capable of corruption, White, Black, Chinese or Puerto Rican, it matters not.
The fact that Sarnoff was born to a Jewish mother and father makes him a semite, not a corrupt person.

I can tell YOU'RE a little mixed up about when someone takes a stand against ANY racism, like I tried to do.

The 24/7 drug clubs like Club Space and Mekka have customers who jump on taxi's, jump on top of County buses, destroy property and simply riot. Who needs idiots like that?

(Club Space customer Paula Sladewski's murderer is still on the loose.)

District 2 Commissioner Sarnoff protects the drug clubs. See the many You Tube videos. Why does Sarnoff protect these criminals?

Sarnoff gets into Club Space for free?

You get what you pay for. You want a professional police force but don't want to pay for it. It's damned if they do and damned if they don't. One day its Too much force...the next, too little force. Just cause you watch csi Miami doesn't mean you know police work. Join the force and see it like a native. How many officers do you think would be needed to handle a crowd like this? In an effort to keep costs down and appease the promotors of this event, police were deliberately under staffed. Do you really think a handful of policemen would have convinced this crowd to disperse?

Anonymous said...

A well trained professional police force with top notch leadership would have handled this crowd.

What City of Miami cops want is higher pay while the "relajo" continues, Expo eating himself into greater fatness, and the union driving around the Mayor, Commission Chairman, and Lobbyists in their SUVs.

Clean up your act and then maybe demand more pay!

However the Police found time on Saturday to issue an arrest warrant to our partner Park Safe for operating without a BTR (while allowing Nitin's lot to remain open) and to harass our flaggers several times for being a few feet on the sidewalk.

What is more surprising is that after all the difficulty we have had getting street closure permits for high-end corporate events that this neighborhood needs to evolve, the Police obviously had no problem issuing a permit to Mekka, whose landord is Nitin and whose owner is the president of MEDA, a campaign contributor to Comm Sarnoff and which pays the police $4-5,000 per week for "Enhanced Police Services" i.e off duty cops.

And underpaid? The CRA just DOUBLED its annual contribution to the Police to $1 million per year. Since windows regularly still get smashed and crackheads harass young girls patronizing the venues (except around Grand Central), we wonder where the money is going?

What is needed are professional management practices like rotating the Neighborhood Resource Officers like Code Enforcement rotates its inspectors (to avoid them getting too cozy with local businesses) and spending the $1 million from the CRA on protecting the thousands of new residents through initiatives like community policing, not on "investigations" or whatever it is being spent on.

The bottom line is that these practices by the Police Dept are affecting economic development and job creation as well as communicating a negative image about Miami. To be continued...

Stop complaining, you all got what and who you voted for.

Regalado in a "landslide" and now the chicken has come home to roost.

Another 3 years of his bullshit.

Next election? Another 12% turnout.

Brad is full of it. He has been repeatedly warned by the police and keeps trying to skirt the law.

His club has as big a lack of security and as much drugs as elsewhere.

Here are comments from the New Times about lack of security, underage patrons and drugs at a recent event:

Chuck Livid says:
J. Duran's piece is about as good as it's gonna get for this show. The show was a fucking nightmare- A bunch of Miami drama, coke heads and assholes.

HOLLYWOOD says:
I dont even know how I got in, Im only 17. Good thing I was the 9th person inside! So anyways, I grabbed her booty and then recieved a signed lighter from her which i used for the first joint of the night, it couldn't have been better.

Anonymous says:
All i gotta say is..the venue was a terrible experience.. the barricade didnt even hold up, all security had to get together and push it to hold it there, i felt the bar sliding all over the place and it even landed on my foot -_- it sucks some people paid for that.

Michael says:
I was in the crunch at the front, right behind the dude that grabbed her ass... Yes, there were douchebags. Yes, there was cocaine. No, there wasn't as much ecstasy as one would expect (trust me, I looked).

By the way Brad is Peter Erlich's boy.

From another blogger on this site: Peter Erhlich is an individual that Sarnoff hired as a consultant. He brought Peter Ehrlich in so Peter could change Miami21 to benefit his real estate. You see Mr. Ehrlich is a real estate developer. It was payback to Mr. Ehrlich for his help in getting Liaroff elected. Peter was recently fired as Sarnoff did not him to turn state's evidence. An ethics complaint was filed with the county reference their relationship,(Sarnoff/Ehrlich). County would not look at the complaint when Kathy was alledged to intervene. It's all so slimy.

Brad and Pety, How much City money have you taken?

Its Miami Bitches

Better Management Needed said...

The budget for the Police Dept is $120 mil or more. Plus the CRA kicks in $1 mil. There is plenty of money. What is needed is better police management.

Chief Expo, or whoever comes after him, needs to get rid of the "bad apples" and show zero tolerance for "selective enforcement".

Who approved the street closure for 24/7 club Mekka? Who pulled the strings?

Fix the problems or more riots will occur.

Who in their right mind would want to work for Mayor Regalado, the current City Commission, andCarlos Migoya. All of these guys are clowns and City Hall is a big circus tent. Larry Spring and Diana Gomez are jugglers of the budget, Johnny Martinez and Alice Bravo are the wire acts, I mean they wire the public dollars to Mayor Regalado's and Commissioner Sarnoff's lobbyist and desired companies, Julie Bru is the contortionist by bending and stretching legal opinions not even supported by case law, Commissioner Liaroff is the band leader of the circus band who can't play any music on the music sheet unless you make a donation to their tipping cap or campaign donation, etc.

Which City staffer signed off on the Request to Close a Street for a drug fueled party? Were police officers Sanchez, Glasko and Mendez involved?

Did Carlos Migoya know in advance?

In Sarnoff's district.

A riot?

Does Chief Expo know how much crime is permitted and endorsed by his downtown police officers? Does Expo know about the close relationships between police and the drug clubs?
