DAY 320 - READY TO FIGHT!

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!
Mayor Carlos Alvarez is ready to fight, opening a PAC and hiring a lawyer to counteract the Braman / Regalado revenge recall.

We previously recommended that Braman lawyers look at the County Charter provision dealing with recalls, and it seems it's Alvarez' lawyers took our advice.

According to Haggman:
"The mayor is contemplating a legal challenge contending that Braman is precluded under the county charter from launching a recall drive now because a separate, unsuccessful effort was launched earlier this year. The charter says that a recall petition cannot be certified ``within one year after a recall petition against him is defeated.''
The plan is to go to court and delay vote gathering efforts slated for election day in November.

Now for more free advice to the Mayor.

Have your PAC "Citizens for Truth" (nice name) ask Braman the following:

1. Why did Braman not join in and help Lazaro Gonzalez' failed recall effort earlier this year?

2. Why does Braman single out Mayor Alvarez whose sole function is to propose the budget when it is the Commissioners who approve the budget?

3. What involvement does city Mayor Tomas Regalado have in the recall?  This is especially relevant since Mayor Regalado himself lied about not raising taxes in the City of Miami.

4. Braman owns property in the Miami C.R.A., and given his criticism of the Mega Plan and C.R.A. dealings when Manny Diaz was mayor, why is he silent on C.R.A. matters now, including the $10.4 million transfer of funds to cover the city budget?

This is going to get really interesting in the next few weeks.
Look out for Mayor Regalado asserting himself into this matter.

The motivation for revenge is far too great for him to stay out of this.

How much money does Braman get from the C.R.A. now that Corruptalado and Liarof are in charge?

The Honorable Tomas Regalado, Mayor of Miami, will discuss his efforts to reverse that City’s “Culture of Corruption” at the Fourth Annual Ethics Seminar Nov. 5 in Boca Raton.

Brent,

Do you mean he (Mayor Corruptalado) will be a speaker at the seminar explaning how to create one (a Culture of Corruption)?

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has arrested Gilberto Luna, 59, of Miami, on charges relating to a mortgage fraud scheme.

Luna was charged with five counts of mortgage fraud, one count of grand theft, and one count of scheme to defraud.

He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

FDLE agents began their investigation last October after receiving information from a financial lender about suspected fraudulent transactions.

Investigators say Luna provided false information on loan applications to purchase obtain five properties in Brevard, Orange and Miami-Dade counties valued at more than $1 million. The activity allegedly occurred between December 2007 and October 2009.

Companies involving a closing agent provided him with checks and compensation from wire transfers totaling $95,000.

The five properties went into foreclosure in 2008, and Luna eventually filed for bankruptcy

Braman has thousands of employees. CRAs are created to cure slum and blight. CRAs are created to increase jobs. Obviously, Braman buys his own properties using his own money and he cures slum and blight on his own. He must be pissed at having to pay taxes to cover the useless Overtown and OMNI CRAs and their useless staff.

Braman wouldn't let Billboard Bockweg cut his grass.

Carlos Alvarez is all upset and he wants to fight to keep his job. Where was Carlos when we needed someone to fight for us against the Marlins?

The Marlins are stealing $3.5 Bil from the taxpayers and Carlos acted like he was on their payroll.

Carlos has lost a lot of hair since getting elected (ddn't have much to begin with) Unfortunately he has also lost his common sense, if he ever had any.

Carlos, Bruno and Natacha all must go ASAP, followed by TReg and Liarnoff.

Braman sold us out.

It is October 3rd, 2010. The City of Miami budget is already unbalanced. The Regalado/Migoya/Spring budget will be attacking the meager reserves again.

Regalado raised taxes, in a recession, but he did not reduce expenses enough. He did not cut the deadwood.

Bankruptcy awaits.

Only in Miami Dade can we continue to elect very un-qualified Cuban-Americans at every level of government. As a non-latin American I ask the question, How come you Cubans only elect other Cuban-Americans, are there not any qualified non Cubans who could do a better job, I guess not. Nobody wants to mention this fact because it 100% true. Nothing will change untill the Miami Dade Cuban-Americans voters wake up. I cant wait for the day Castro is gone so all you Cubans who have been waiting all these years can go home. Its clear that you never wanted to be part of the American dream, maybe just killing time and sucking entitlements programs till the day Cuba is free. If your not proud to be AMERICAN and have to say Im Cuban-American then you learned nothing in fifty years. Remember if it was not for America you would be poor, have no money for food and live under Castro. I forgot you all want somebody else to do the hard work, like getting rid of Castro. You all fight your battles from a nice secure country like America, boy that takes guts.... Yet the little old ladies in white have done more to get rid of Castro than the entire Cuban_American community in America for the past fifty years. Remember you all are here because you could not govern yourselfs while in you home country. How can you govern here in Miami-Dade.

I am a Cuban and for the most part your statement is somewhat correct. For many years in the 60's 70's and 80's the Cuban American community felt that they were not fairly represented in government (politicians and judges) when they finally became citizens they would blindly vote for the Hispanic name on the ballot. Specially in the races of judges in Miami dade county. Qualified judges have been and are being ousted by unqualified candidates with a Hispanic last name on the ballot. This is a fact. But it is also a payback by the Cuban and Hispanic communities in Miami dade county to the old guard of people such as Dale Bennett, milander, jl Plummer, etc, etc. Who did quite a bit of damage themselves.

Anonymous 5:15 if you would want to know why Cuban Americans MIGHT only vote for other Cuban American it is because of racisit, discriminatory, and bigotry comments such as yours. You have a big problem! You have repeatedly posted the same comments over and over again in the Miami Herald evertytime there is some type of scandal in local governement. Just look at the corruption in Palm Beach and Broward County. It involves White Americans. Corrupted individuals comes in all races, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, etc.

Many people now realize that elected officials voted into office by the Cuban majority are not qualified. The Cuban elected officials are not experienced managers and they have no business making financial decisions. Further, there is a group of Cuban campaign advisors and lobbyists who foster the impression that Cubans steal money from taxpayers.

Mayor Carlos Alvarez, Mayor Tomas Regalado, former Mayor Manny Diaz, former Mayor Alex Penelas and most of the Miami-Dade commissioners are all examples of unqualified elected officials.

Every voter should vote for the best candidate not just the best Cuban.

I totally agree the best candidate should be voted in. But to make a generalize statment that Cuban elected officials are not experienced managers and have no business making financial decisions is a racist statement. Not all Cuban elected officials are incompetent in the same manner that not all White elected officials are competent. Please remember that the elected officials that currently should be removed is a Cuban (Regalado), a White (Sarnoff), and a Black (Dunn) politician.

If you really are racist, then you need to consider somewhere else to live than South Florida, because this will always be a diverse community. It is good to see that bigots are true and alive in 2010. Do you wear a hood?

There are excellent Cuban managers and businessmen. None are elected officials and none have high positions in government.

Carlos Alvarez is a financial disaster.

Manny Diaz is Cuban. He was a disaster. When he left Miami, with a $100,000 per year pension for himself, Miami was facing a $100 MILLION deficit and bankruptcy.

Carlos Alvarez is Cuban. He is strong Mayor of Miami-Dade County and the County faced a $400 mil deficit. Rather than reducing expenses (Note to Carlos: pay and benefits are too bloated) Alvarez raised taxes and gave raises to his friends.
