REGALADO SELLS STOREFRONT BILLBOARDS TO HELP PHANTOM MAYOR GUTIERREZ

On the April 14th City Commission agenda, Mayor Tomas Regalado proposed an ordinance entitled "Temporary Vacant Storefront Window Signs" in effect allowing billboards to be placed on vacant storefronts all over the city.

Well, guess who represents a company that specializes in storefront advertising?

You guessed it!

The Phantom Mayor himself, Armando Gutierrez.

Pearl Media "specializes in converting vacant retail storefronts into advertising opportunities."

They "afford advertisers the opportunity to 'own the streets' with a reach, frequency and impact that isn't possible through traditional outdoor methods. We offer a powerful medium that transforms windows of vacant retail real estate into engaging high impact advertisements."

It also lines the pockets of well connected lobbyists.

More billboards, just what the City of Miami needs.

Tomas will stop at nothing to help the Phantom Mayor.

And with Mark Siffin throwing around millions for more billboards, even at Bicentennial Park, soon Miami will be known for the visual pollution, and that includes covering the entire city with tacky billboards.

Just look at the MRC...

I am no fan of Gutierrez, regalado or anyone else in the administration ... But everything done is not a total scheme ... Someone has to pay for that advertising space ... And if the City generates enough money from thses deals to keep just one more $40K/year city employee ... Then all the better ...

Or to keep Veldora Arthur making $300,000+

I didn't say that ...the fire dept needs complete reorganization - no argument ... Does anyone know the pay structure at MiamiDade FD ?? If the city merged its FD w/ the County would there be a substatial savings in salary/pensions ??

Oh yea, so the king of all liars can put another $250,000.00 into Blanch Park directly across the street from where his illegal law office USED to be...

Listen up Miami, until we rid the city of the self serving politicians like Sarnoff that continue to think that it's THEIR money to do with what they wish there will be no money for ANYTHING, not even a dime.

All the schemes are hatched while eating for free at Rusty Pelican

Sarnoff is not only gay .. he's a whore!

The City of Miami Firemen receive 20% to 30% more pay and benefits than M-D County firemen. The departments should merge. There would be great economies of scale. Unfortunately Miami firemen have gotten accustomed to living like Fortune 500 CEO's.

Because elected officials are weak Miami's firemen are the best paid in the world.

Billboards and other forms of outdoor advertising make Miami look cheap and crass. Like a worn out crack addict whore after a long night.

Speaking of cheap and crass, have you seen Sarnoff's wifey lately?

Wasn't Carlos Gimenez a City of Miami firefighter?

Anonymous said...

Yes he was, and he lives off a hefty firefighter pension too.

Mr Gutierrez,

How much will it cost me to advertise my blog on Regalado's forehead?

I am not opposed to signage, but I am opposed to requirements in the proposed ordinance that would only allow the Phantom Mayor's client to qualify for the advertising permits. TBM take a close look at the qualifying requirements. This one is a real stinker of a favor to Mr. Gutierrez and his client.

Coco .. Ms. Sarnoff, the one with the BALLS, may be cheap and crass, but here husband, the other Ms. Sarnoff is the WHORE!

Sarnoff is for Sarnoff nothing else. He takes care of a selected group of friends and himeself But Regaldo is clue less. He is surrounded by idiots theifs and liars. He will go down as the worst mayor that the City of Miami has ever had. Also the City will be bankraupt this year do to poor manegement not because of the employees

Poor management allows the employees, along with the poor management, to be massively overpaid.

All of the politicians are out for anything they can get and are glad they got it. Regalado is out to protect his friends by any means at his disposal. The billboards, those mysterious inept employees that pop up every so often during a supposedly "hiring freeze", his misterious deals that seem to be completely one sided and when you investigate and dig deeper out pops a Regalado crony...City residents need to keep an eye on any Regalado deal, the mayor always acts like a mouse but in all his deals he is always the RAT!

Billboards are popping up all over Miami. Soon Miami will see new LED billboards. Trashy. Ugly. Greedy. Like the politicians who approve them.

Take it from a former unknowingly sarnoff toady ... He is the worst ... If u r not 100 per cent in agreement with him ... He has u fired ... He is a giant pussy ... Not even a man ...

Pearl Media doesn't even qualify for the ordinance. They haven't been in business long enough... You need to check your facts before slandering someone's name. The deal was meant for someone else. Check FFV.

To assume that Gutierrez is the "phantom mayor" doesn't make any sense. Regalado has been in politics for more than 15 years...

And did you ever think that more ad revenue for a city that's almost bankrupt may be a good idea? Try being part of the solution before you throw out stupid conspiracy theories.

Visual pollution hurts everyone except the sleazy billboard companies and their lowrent lobbyists.

If the City is broke then fire indicted employees like Veldora Arthur and Jeff Glasko. Stop paying no-show scammers like Meredith Nation. Fire the dead wood.

Did Meredith Nation ever return the $100,000 she got for the no-show job?

Did anyone get fired for authorizing the No-Show job? Signing time cards?

It amazes me when people are opposed to alternative revenue streams for cities whose balance sheet is clearly not optimal.

It's apparent that these same people don't have a clear understanding of the financial constraints that major cities are under due to rigorous funding restrictions and a more concentrated population density.

"More billboards in Miami" is exactly what the city needs to compensate for its inflated budget due to the aforementioned restrictions as well as hugely ineffective and inefficient public service departments and the albatross of labor unions.

Most US cities are run like poorly run businesses and is a large contributor to why our nation's economy is in such peril.

It would be helpful if you had even a rudimentary understanding of micro- and macroeconomics before you conceived your uneducated and unfounded opinion on the topic.
