NOW WHAT?

The big plan has been shot down.

Taking over the MPA and then leasing out the assets was the way Tomasito and friends would save the city from bankruptcy.

Getting the voters to approve it would be easy.  Go on Cuban radio, blame the MPA for spending too much money.  Accuse the MPA director of "Living la Vida Loca..."

Tomasito's relentless campaigning could not convince voters to give him control of the MPA.

So now what?

This is a major defeat for Tomasito in several ways, the worst of which is that now he and Manager Migoya have to figure out a way to keep the city from going bankrupt.

The other defeat is a tarnish to his power and image, for the first time, Tomasito could not get voters to go along with him.

This is in addition to his and Raquelita's support for failed gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink will send a message to the city commissioners (Carollo and Suarez especially) that Tomasito's air of invincibility is not what it seems.

Tomasito's blood is in the water, and the commission sharks will soon begin to circle around him.

Of note:

The Herald ran a story about Sarnoff beating his ethics complaint, but no story yet on the failed MPA takeover.  Maybe Chuck was too busy to write a story that matters.

Also, former Mayor Manny Diaz who was the state chairman for Fair Districts got a big win last night with the passage of Amendments 5 and 6.

  1. Thank God this did not go through.
The MPA assets (all of them) would have been sold off like yesterdays news.
More cuts for the cops & firemen coming since now the mpa money will not be available.

  2. The city will go bankrupt now that Tomas's plans fell through.

  4. Tomas has no power outside his little Cuban radio base of old people. When the turnout was higher than normal and he went all out to get his schemes passed, the voters rejected him. Too bad we have to put up with this buffoon for another 3 years.

  5. Well, it seems that the Sarnoff toadies have decided to make me the target. Of course, no matter what you think of me, I do have the integrity to let people know that when I write something about somebody I sign my name.

Can't say that about the folks at Plus Miami. I wonder why? I guess I'd be ashamed too, if my writing skills were so bad, but then, since I detect a personal style that speaks like a woman scorned, I've got a hunch that Plus Miami is the work of the lovely Teresa, who has tired of punky Marc and his failure to "do" anything about me and has decided to take me on herself.

You keep it up girl. Oh, by the way, I expect that after you see what I post tonight, you'll probably go bat shit in the morning.
So, I'll be looking to see what you write tomorrow. Make it good baby. I love it when you talk dirty!

    Love and kisses,

    Your pal, "Crookie"

  6. The PlusMiami blogsite is no other than Ryan Alexander. Yes, after the Ethics Complaint on fence gate was filed he was tansferred back to the Building Department. However, approximately 8 months ago, Ryan Alexander made it back to Commissioner Sarnoff's Office. Now how is it possible that his position and salary is being charged to the Building Department, when he is working for Commissioner Sarnoff. They did this before and now doing it again.

RYAN YOU ARE SCUMBAG...AND YOU REALLY NEED SOME WRITING LESSONS! THE PLUSMIAMI IS NOT TERESA SARNOFF.

AL, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT MARC AND TERESA DO NOT GET THEIR HANDS DIRTY, THEY HAVE OTHER WORTHLESS PIECES OF FLESH DOING THIS FOR THEM.

THIS WAY THEY CAN CLAIM THAT THEY HAD NO DOING OR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ACT!

  8. Well I'm sure that pretty soon the city scummissioners will be crying and blaming the city employees yet again so they can cut pay and benefits. They lie to the citizens and tell them that no services were cut while almost everyday the fire department has two rescue units out of service. That's two less rescue units that are not available to serve the citizens of Miami. But according to the scumissioner scamnorff and tomasito no services were cut. So what's to stop them from going from 2 to 4. Why not, the employees can't strike and the employees are so good at doing more with less. Fucking asshole.

  9. Today can be proclaimed a victorious day for the City of Miami residents. After several weeks of Mayor Corruptalado going on Cuban radio spreading his propaganda in the same manner that his idol, Fidel Castro, uses it in Cuba, his attempt to take over the Miami Parking Authortity (MPA) failed. His propoganda consisted of spreading information across the airwaves to inform the elderly Cuban population about the misspending of the MPA. However, there were several flaws with his and Armando Gutierrez's political strategy. They failed to recognize that they were other political races and issues (i.e. State of Florida Governor, County Commissioners, U.S. Senator, Amendment 4, 6, and 8, etc.) that would bring a well-diverse of voters to the polls to vote. This meant that your voting bloc of the elderly Cuban population was outnumbered by primarily the different groups representing the City of Miami such as the younger voters of all races (including Cuban Americans who do not support you at all) between the age ranges of 18 and 25 and the median age voters of all races between the age ranges of 26 and 40 (once again including the Cuban Americans who do not support you at all). These voting groups recognized the fact that this was a quick attempt for you, Mayor Corruptalado, Commissioner Liaroff, and Carlos "Mr. Sexual Harrassment and Mr. I recieved kickbacks from Jorge Perez" Migoya to make the City's bad financial conditions healthier by grabbing all the cash from the MPA. They understood and questioned your motiviation on bringing out the questionable past expenditures of the MPA at this very moment. As a matter of fact, Mayor, both you and Liaroff were City Commissioners last year when the City was already experiencing financial problems. Why wasn't the MPA's misspending revealed back then? Or is it because both of you were being opportunisitic in not only counting on getting your hands on the MPA's dollars to make the City financially healthier today, but funneling a lot of those dollars into the pockets of your friends and lobbyists such as Freddy Balsera, Armando Gutierrez, Rodney Barretto, Steve Marin, Brian May, Rosario Kennedy, Al Cardenas, and company.

If this is not precisely true, than why did you, Mayor Corruptalado, Commissioner Liaroff, and Carlos "clueless" Migoya only planned for a short-term solution instead of a long-term solution. As a matter of fact, within the next 30 to 60 days, you will to come and reveal that more budget cuts will have to take place, because the City's financial position has not improved. This will translate into layoffs, cutting services, more salary reductions and benefits, etc.

When this happens, I can assure you that all of your dirty bones and skeletons will be coming out of the closet, because your city employees can not take it any longer.

There is massive corruption, I mean institutional corruption at the City. It starts with you Mayor Corruptalado and Commissioner Liaroff. Sooner or later it will be uncovered by the very same people who assisted all of you. I hope you are sleeping well at night. Sweet Dreams to you all.....

  18. Name ONE THING Sarnoff has done for his district that benefits the people in it. And Regalado? Nothing!

They both suck and need to leave office, make way for people who care.

  19. Sarnoff uses a $140,000 per yr policeman to chauffeur him around. In a taxpayer owned SUV.

  20. A second look at the picture shows Carlos Migoya's expression stating, "I really miss Michelle Pina's pussy-cat, just about now, or we are really fucked now since we can't get our hands around the Miami Parking Authority (take a look at Regalado's expression), or both".

Carlos Migoya at what age did you began to show your "Napoleon Complex" tendencies? Are these tendencies further acted out in the workplace by sexually harrassing your employees? Harrassment is usually done by those who would want to exert there self-imposed powers on to others.

  22. Plus Miami is coming very close to making physical threats against Mr. Crespo. Sarnoff would do well to reread the case against the Palm Beach commissioner who plead guilty to threating and attempting to intimidate critics.

    Go Al.

  23. Plus Miami basically states Al Crespo risks getting shot by a policemen. Plus Miami threatens Al that a policemen will mistake Al's Santa Claus look and his camera for his being a ghetto mugger.

Al Crespo should file for a restraining order. That Plus Miami dude is unbalanced.

  26. Carlos Migoya prevented the City from filing bankrupcty in 2010 but he did not do enough. City has no reserves and far too many overpaid employees.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Carlos Migoya is leaving the City with too many perks being paid to too many employees.

Carlos Migoya probably has no idea how many employees are allowing consultants and General Contractors rip off the taxpayers.

The City still has firemen who sit at desks making over $300,000 per year.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 88 of the highest paid 100 employees at the City of Miami are firemen. All make over $200,000.

Fireman - High School diploma required.

3 day weeks, take home vehicles, massive pensions, paid gym time...

City still broke and getting worse.

  29. The City of Miami is one hurricane away from wiping out ALL the reserve funds. Manny Diaz put the City on a path to disaster.

  30. Carlos Migoya was ignorant to many scams used to devert City money to connected insiders. Or maybe, he just ignored them?
