At the end of the piece, 28th minute, the Channel 41 reporter says that off camera, the Mayor added how:
This probably would not have happened to the City of Miami police, first because they know and understand this sort of delinquent criminal in that they are used to dealing with them daily and second because we would have sent in the SWAT team that uses a different protocol.
Not only are these comments terribly insensitive and divisive in light of two Metro-Dade Officers being shot, but it is the type of comment that because it was said to a Spanish language TV station, have gone under the radar of English speaking media, especially the
Regardless of which agency served the warrant, two officers are dead.
Let us also remind everyone that had it not been for the Crespo Gram Report, and subsequently Miami for Change, the
In their report, Channel 41 interviewed the mother of the criminal that shot the two officers.
She said her son last told her, they are coming to kill me, so I will shoot first.
This is the type of environment that Mayor Tomas Regalado has created in the African American neighborhoods of our city.
Regalado's was known for reckless statements as a commissioner, but now as mayor, his recklessness is costing lives.
It's HIS fault! Now all the criminals are trigger happy, he turned it into a war zone, violence with violence and all. What about the families of the victims? Where is the Herald?
ReplyDeleteWhen a violent criminal is hellbent on escaping at any cost -- as fugitive murder suspect Johnny Simms had made clear -- all the tactics, experience and manpower that police can muster cannot guarantee officer safety, law enforcement officials said Friday.
ReplyDeleteMiami-Dade Police Director James Loftus praised slain officers Roger Castillo and Amanda Haworth and their unit, the career criminal squad, saying he would not entertain doubts about their collective judgment or tactics.
Said Loftus of Simms: ``Do you think he knew whether it was a SWAT team, or whether it was a uniformed officer? I'm sure it had nothing to do with his decision to come out firing. He came out shooting because he wanted to get away.
``Just because someone has a shield, or somebody has a helmet, doesn't make them suddenly protected. We've had SWAT people shot in the mouth. We've had SWAT people horribly injured.''

He pulls off this shit on Spanish TV and the Herald Rabin never calls him on it until it's too late. So what exactly did you mean by this Mr. Mayor???
ReplyDeleteCommissioner Dunn told Chief Exposito to order Miami cops to stop shooting criminals who pointed guns at cops.
ReplyDeleteBlood on your hands, Regalado and Dunn.
ReplyDeleteThe Miami-Dade Police Department Director and top management has heard about the Mayor Regalado's comments. This already created a rift between the Mayor Alvarez and Mayor Regalado, both the Miami-Dade Police Director and Miami Police Chief, and the Miami-Dade Police Department and Miami Police Department.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Miami-Dade Police Department will not be allowing Mayor Regalado and Commissioner Dunn attend the funeral.
Regalado and Dunn should be banned fro the funeral!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think that you would be able to pull it off but somehow you geniuses have found a way to use the brutal deaths of two of South Florida's finest to aid in your political vendetta against Regalado and the City of Miami.
ReplyDeleteBravo! And welcome to the large group of slugs in this world who will exploit anything in order to advance their politics.
Hey "Genius," the one who opened his mouth and turned this into a circus is your boy Regalado. Stop making excuses for his idiotic comments, thanks to his "violence with violence" we have two dead officers. No one but Regalado it to blame.

City if Miami appointed Commissioner Dunn demanded that Miami Police stop shooting at criminals who pointed guns at them.
ReplyDelete"My people..."
Dunn himself is a criminal, takes one to know one.
ReplyDeleteI think being a criminal is a pre-requisite to become Miami Mayor or City Commissioner.
ReplyDeleteTomas Regalado was completely exonerated of all charges against him regarding the misuse of his city gas card.
ReplyDeleteNow, he did cheat on his wife, cheated om his taxes, and does hang out with criminals.
Putney also asked why a SWAT team was not used.
ReplyDelete``It's a completely different scenario,'' Alvarez answered. ``This is not a case where you know, for a fact, that there is an armed subject in the house so you call in SWAT, which can plan an attack and bring special tactics.''
The actions of the officers who went looking for Simms were not unusual, Alvarez said. ``The warrants bureau does this every single day of their lives.''

Headline should say Totally INSANE. Regalado is out of his freakin mind. The Mayor is INSANE.
ReplyDeleteRECALL, RECALL, RECALL REGALADO!
Mayor Regalado on behalf of all police officers a message to you and your family. FUCK YOU!
ReplyDeleteIt was Commissioner Dunn who wanted Police Chief Exposito fired for refusing to order his cops NOT to shoot at crimainals. "Chief, I have lost confidence in you. You should be fired."
ReplyDeleteMayor Regalado, Commissioner Sarnoff, Commissioner Dunn and Chief Exposito should all be gone! Politicizing the police killings to move their political agenda. Fucking pathetic! Then you have that useless bitch Katherine Fernandez-Rundle show up at the viewing to do the same. She did it for her political motivatios.
ReplyDeleteDid Dunn attend the Memorial for the two murdered police officers at American Airlines Arena?
ReplyDeleteI bet he did, and sat next to Retardado, hypocrite scum!
ReplyDeleteI am a local police officer disgusted by the comments of this inept mayor. I have gone to several tactical training courses in the MDPD and their training is exceptional. I know for a fact those officers were well trained but evil will always have the element of suprise on their side. Together, both officers have fifty years of police experience. for the mayor to make such reckless statements confirms his lack od leadership.
ReplyDeleteDear Local Police Officer:
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
Now, you should call the City of Miami FOP and ask to speak with Armando Aguilar, union president.
Ask Mr. Aguilar why he supported Mr. Regalado in his bid for mayor and whether Mr. Regalado promised Mr. Aguilar that his wife would be Miami city manager.
