CHIEF EXPO: MEET YOUR $70,000 BABYSITTER

As reported by us this morning, City Manager Tony Crapp Jr. has hired former FBI agent Paul Philip to be Chief Miguel Exposito's babysitter, with a fancy title "Special Advisor on Public Safety."

The Miami Herald Mayor's Press Office confirmed the appointment, but conveniently left out the $70,000 in salary that City taxpayers will have to fork over to have Mr. Phillip try and keep Chief Exposito under control.

This is the first time in memory that a Miami city manager makes such an unprecedented appointment.

We are also sure that added to his base salary, Mr. Phillip will receive the requisite phone and car "allowances" and other generous benefits that bureaucrats bestow on each other.

Among his duties:

-Provide recommendations ... regarding ... oversight and management of the police department.
-Assess succession plan for all ranks.
-Evaluate all training.
-Assess morale.

We always thought this was the job for the Chief of Police.

Chief Exposito already makes $196,000 a year.

And now add $70,000+ to the equation.

All because Mayor Regalado can't or won't fire Expo.

This guy Tony Crapp is really full of crap. Talk about patronage. What the hell does an FBI agent know about municipal policing?

Another $70,000 down the crapper...

I work in the Miami Police Department. We all know that Tony Crapp, Jr. have been followed by Exposito's boy for long time . They have video of Tony Crapp, Jr. having several affairs with different women during city time.

These assholes are all playing a game of chicken with our money.

RECALL REGALADO NOW!!!

City is financially bankrupt but there is money to burn in City Hall
We can use a FBI agent to babysit Sarnoff, Regalado, Ethics Board, Miami Parking.....just bring in the whole bureau!!!

Viva the Banana Republic

The city is in a financial crisis for everything except hiring Tomas' friends and family.

Instead of firing Exposito, they spend more money on the problem burning money because it's not theirs.

Total Bullshit!!!

Unprecedented. This just shows the total lack of balls and brains from Tommy and Crapp.

Tony Crapp is an idiot. The City is facing another massive deficit and Tony Crapp is still putting his frat buddies on the payroll?

Like Arnold, we need to have a TOTAL RECALL baby.

Throw all these bums out, starting with TOMASS!

Tony Crapp is another lifer public sector drone who thinks money grows on trees. Get a job in the private sector, Tony. Learn about real life.

Tony is setting us up for another tax increase, or two.

Already the city's millage rate stayed flat and Regalado lied saying that taxes did not go up, but fees did. Get ready for more taxes and fees and bullshit ideas light the red light cameras.

It is interesting who Paul Phillips really is. I found at least two articles In Miami New Times where Paul Phillips admits to being friends with convicted felon Camilo Padreda.

This is the same Camilo Padreda who was arrested and convicted on a million dollar fraud of US HUD and another $500,000 swindle involving a savings and loan.In the million dollar HUD fraud, Padreda agreed to testify against former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez.

Padreda is proud to include Phillips as a "very good friend".

Boy, the Mayor continues to bring shady people into the city.

Read the Miami New Times articles, ""A Friend Indeed", or "Just Friends" to get the straight scoop.

This is madness!!! The ones that work in the city hall are in charge of making the City of Miami a better place, more money coming in, better quality of life, more bussiness, they are in charge of responsibly making sounding decisions with the taxpayers monies so that those who work and live in our city could have a better living and working conditions. In the other hand this CLOWNS can't make it happen every single deal goes sour and no money is generated, the boat is sinking and the City is losing its tracks, we are bankrupt and things are going for worst, nothing happens to those in charge. Why are they not being investigated by the FBI just for the fact of not being able to take this great City forward in the road of success. IS SOMEBODY IN CONGRESS WATCHING THIS? SOMEBODY HELP THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Is our chief responsible for the economic future of our city? Come on now!!! This is worst than VENEZUELA.......

Carlos Magoya did the job for free. The State said they would assess the Police Department for free. The City is in financial trouble. What do they do. Let the manager go and hire a crony for a six figure salary. Then turn around and hire an adviser to assess the Police Department because the Manager you hired at a six figure salary doesn't have the management expertise to evaluate the organization. Is the media going to publish this?

@ 18:35
No the Herald won't publish it - they are protecting Regalado and Sarnoff until the sale of their property comes thru and Mark Siffen has his 40 story billboards.

Anonymous said...

Do you think the Herald will ever disclose the money that Siffin paid Armando Gutierrez for the billboard deal?

Way to go Tony Crappy, just spend 70 grand instead of just making the right decision and just fire the police chief. What a pussy.

We at Univison would like to thank Mayor Tomas Regalado for allowing us to take $65K out of the police overtime budget to pay for the services rendered for the 3 Kings Parade. I know we had several sponsors that including our own station that can well afford to pay but thanks to the generosity of Mayor Tomas Regalado it came out of the police department's budget. I understand that the officers gave up a significant amount of money as the Mayor was instrumental in opening up the police contracts under the "Fiscal Urgency" clause. We at Univision support our police but when it comes to dollars and cents we have our own staff to pay. Therefore we again would like to thank the Mayor for taking the money from the police to provide services for this "Private Event" that we would have had to pay for. Mr Mayor anytime you want us to do your dirty work for you such as run negative stories about the Chief just say the word. We certainly owe you.

Does Tony "closet boy" Crapp think money grows on trees?

Anonymous said...

Not trees, it grows in taxpayer pockets.

This guy has never had a real job in his entire life, what more do you expect.

Anonymous said...

Let me get this straight. We took a 12% pay cut because the Mayor said the city was broke and needed the money. Now you're telling me that he let UNIVISION off the hook for the three Kings Parade to the tune of $65k and that the money came out of the police department's budget. What the heck is going on here? Where is my union?????.

http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2002-11-21 ... -goddaddy/.

I found this story from 2002 where regalado is pictured next to Ex- Chief Martinez. In the story Camilo Padreda (CONVICTED FELON) has enough political pull to save his friend Chief Martinez's job. Coincidence that there is a connection of friendship between Padreda, Phillips and maybe Regalado?????

Padreda is listed as a close friend of the FBI Chief and Phillips in another Miami New Times story.

hmmmm the plot not only thickens but is down right dirty

Alcrespo, TBM can you confirm this theory???

Wow !! It sure is getting spooky at the City of Miami !! ... Thank God we have Marc Sarnoff !! Sarnoff rules !!!

The Miami Herald, I mean Mayor Regalado's Press Office, has written another negative article about the Miami Police Department.

See link:
http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/01/31/2044264/website-links-to-firm-of-officers.html

Apparently, the son of cock sucking Assistant Police Chief Richard Blom created an on-line training course for the Miami Police Department. Assistant Chief Blom says, "No Conflict", because he did this is for free.

Oh, really! How about the fact that the Police Department Information Technology personnel and resources were used to create the on-line courses. So Blom's son copyrights the on-line program and can now financially benefit by selling this service to other Police Department.

I think that both the Mayor's and Blom's son are in violation of State, County, and City Conflict of Interest laws and ordinances.

Where is the Ethics Commission and the State Attorney on this? Where is the Miami Herald?

TBM - speaking of sons - who's been paying Jose Regalado for the past several years? Heard a rumor that it's been Armando Gutierrez lately. Any truth to that? If so, does that mean he's been paid to do no work? - ala Angel Gonzalez' daughter.

Armando does all sort of shit under the table.

Billboard deal. The Mark Siffin proposed 50 story LED billboard towers are dead according to the Miami Herald. Does that mean the bribes must be returned?

Did Rosario Kennedy make sure her checks from Siffin cleared?

Name the names.
Which lobbyists and attorneys took money from billboard promoter Mark Siffin?
